Module Overview

R is a freely available, open source package for statistical computing, which is very widely used for bioinformatics analysis. A two day workshop (‘Introduction to Research Statistics using R’) introducing R and R Studio for statistical analysis is provided through Talent and Development, run by Prof. Steve Hubbard. Attendance of this workshop, which runs bi-annually is recommended as an introduction to R, which will be used in a number of DAG training modules.

No previous experience with R is expected. The workshop covers importing data into R studio, using descriptive statistics, checking assumptions, analysis of variance, linear regression, model simplification, model checking and final model selection.
